How we take it off

Shop drawings are built from the approved construction documents plus your specific markups, redlines or field notes, following whatever title block, layer naming and dimensioning standard your project or client requires. As-built updates start from the original CAD file (or a fresh redraw if none exists) and incorporate field redlines sheet by sheet, with a revision log kept so every change is traceable back to its source markup.

What the second-estimator review is checking

• Redlines incorporated without a revision log, making it unclear later what changed and why
• Drawings delivered without matching the client's required layer standard, creating rework on their end
• As-built dimensions taken from the original design intent instead of verified field conditions
• Submittal drawings missing the specific annotations a reviewing engineer or architect needs to approve on first pass
