Flooring Takeoff

We measure every room, closet and transition from your architectural drawings and return a clean, room-by-room flooring takeoff. Material is broken out by finish type with your waste factor applied, so the number you bid is the number you order.

How we take it off

Each room is measured individually from the floor plan, including closets and transition areas, with material type tracked per the finish schedule. Waste factor is applied per material and layout pattern — a diagonal tile layout or a running-bond hardwood pattern wastes more than a straight lay, and we adjust for that rather than applying one number sitewide. Underlayment, adhesive and transition strip quantities follow the same room-by-room breakdown.

What the second-estimator review is checking

• One flat waste factor applied across every room regardless of layout pattern or room shape
• Closets and small transition areas dropped from the room count
• Underlayment quantity not matched to the specific flooring type that requires it
• Finish schedule not cross-checked against the floor plan when a room's material differs from the default
